Our designer will ask you about the occasion, your style preferences, your comfort level, and the look you are going for. Do you want something flowing and modest? Structured and formal? A fusion of traditional and modern?

This is your time to bring inspiration — photos on your phone, a Pinterest board, even a picture from a magazine. The more you share, the better we understand your vision. Do not worry if you do not have a clear idea yet; our team is experienced in helping you discover a direction that suits your personality and body type.

Tip: Come wearing undergarments or a base layer you plan to wear with the outfit, as this affects how measurements and fit are assessed.


Step 2: Fabric Selection — The Foundation of Every Great Outfit

Once the design direction is clear, it is time to choose your fabric. This is where many clients feel overwhelmed, but it is also one of the most exciting parts of the process.

At Sayzrina Designs, we guide you through fabric choices based on three things: the occasion, the season, and the silhouette. A chiffon drapes beautifully for an evening event but may not be ideal for a structured blazer. A heavy brocade is stunning for a formal occasion but can feel too warm in Abu Dhabi’s summer months.

Some questions we will walk you through:

  • Will you be indoors or outdoors?
  • Do you prefer natural fabrics like cotton and silk, or synthetics that hold structure better?
  • What colour palette feels right for the event and your skin tone?

One thing worth knowing: we do not stock fabrics at our boutique. Instead, we source them directly from the market on your behalf — which actually works in your favour. It means you get access to a far wider range of options than any single shop could carry. Once we have your design brief and preferences in hand, our team visits the fabric market and consults with you in real time via video call or WhatsApp chat, showing you the options available so you can make a confident, informed choice before anything is purchased. It is a personal shopping service built right into your tailoring experience.


Step 3: Taking Measurements — Precision is Everything

This is the step most people are nervous about, but it should not be. Measurements are simply data — they allow us to create a garment that fits your body, not a standard sizing chart invented for someone else.

We take a full set of measurements including bust, waist, hips, shoulder width, sleeve length, and height, among others depending on the garment style. These are recorded carefully and kept on file for future visits, so returning customers do not need to go through the full process again.

The entire measurement session typically takes less than 15 minutes.


Step 4: Timeline and Fittings — What to Realistically Expect

Custom tailoring is not a same-day service, and for good reason. Each piece is cut and constructed specifically for you, which takes time and care.

For most garments, you can expect:

  • Standard custom pieces: 3–14 days
  • Complex designs or embellishments: 1–3 weeks
  • Alterations and adjustments: 1–5 days depending on the work involved

We also schedule one or two fitting sessions during the process. These are essential — even the most precise measurements can need minor adjustments once the garment takes shape on the body. A fitting is your opportunity to flag anything before the final stitching is complete.

Important: Always book with enough lead time before your event. We recommend coming in at least three weeks ahead for a custom piece.

Have an urgent requirement? We understand that life does not always give you three weeks’ notice. We do our best to accommodate urgent requests with flexibility in our standard timelines — but please discuss your deadline with our designer at the time of booking so we can be honest about what is achievable and plan accordingly. We would always rather have that conversation upfront than rush a garment that deserves care.


Can’t Make It to the Shop? We Come to You

We know that not everyone can always visit us in person — especially with busy work schedules and family commitments. That is why we offer a pickup and drop-off service through our courier partner. We can collect your fabric or reference clothing from your home or office at a time that is convenient for you, and deliver your finished garment directly to your door anywhere in the UAE.

That said, we always recommend a store visit where possible — especially for your first order. When you are here in person, our team can assess fit in real time, make any final adjustments on the spot, and ensure you leave completely satisfied. There is a level of precision and personalisation that an in-store appointment simply cannot be matched remotely. Think of our delivery service as a convenience for returning clients or straightforward orders — and the boutique visit as the full Sayzrina experience.


Step 5: Collecting Your Outfit — The Best Part

There is a particular joy in wearing something made exactly for you. When you try on your finished garment for the first time and it fits perfectly — the shoulders sit right, the waist falls in just the right place, the length is exactly as you imagined — it is a feeling that ready-to-wear simply cannot replicate.
